Bothered By Daddy's Beard

My Daddy says all daddies have, at one point or another, sported a beard. So he decided it was time for him to become a real daddy and see what it would look like on him.

If I may voice my opinion on the subject, I have to say I'm not a fan. First of all when he gives me kisses it irritates my face. When he blows on my tummy it irritates my belly. And it just irritates Mommy.

I've taken it upon myself to protest this hairy mess, as you can see by my hiding with my blanket and pulling my hood up so he can't get to me. Mommy has also undertaken her own protest and said that she wants nothing for her birthday but for him to shave it off. Her birthday is only a day away, so we'll see who wins: Mommy's only birthday wish or the scraggly growth on my Daddy's face. Stay tuned and I'll let you know who wins.

Update: Mommy won. Dad's face is now as smooth as well, my behind.

I Too, Am A Dreamer

Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day and I'm so excited because my mommy and daddy were both home to hang out with me.

Daddy said that MLK believed in a day where people would be seen for who they are and not the color of their skin. That must be why SpongeBob, who is yellow, has a TV show.

Dr. King hoped race would no longer be an issue in our society, and I completely agree. In fact, you can see that I don't even have a problem with different species. Here I am with Linny, who is a Wonder Pet and just so happens to be a member of Genus Cavia (a guinea pig for those of you scoring at home).

Anyway, I'm working on a couple teeth so this has been anything but a holiday in my house. But at least my mommy and daddy get to experience the joy that is parenthood together on this day. That is my dream.

Here's the Low Down

So, I mentioned giving my Moma and Dada a run for their money so let me tell you more. I like to throw things, really, I love it! I throw food, toys, forks, and anything else I can get my hands on. But it's not like it's all the time-just when I am in my mood.

I know when I want something-I want it now! Don't tell me NO! I don't want to hear it and if you tell me no I might hit you in frustration-I may even slap your face.

I whine or I will pull on your leg until you pick me up. I will take you by the finger to what I want and usually I can't have it-like the Wii remotes, the t.v. remote, my Dada's new cell phone (I think my chewing on the last one shorted out the keypad).

I am going through a food phase. All I want to eat are pretzels, crackers, and sometimes chicken or cheerios. I still love the white stuff to drink, now I squeeze my hand a few times to tell my parents I want the wholesome good stuff (they call it sign language) and they clap and smile at me like I am the smartest thing on the planet.

I'm still working the ladies with my charm. If I flash a smile, wave, or blow a kiss it melts them-especially if I do all three. So many ladies talk to me at the grocery or the mall- you'd think I was a celebrity. I giggle and laugh and play games a lot more now. I like to "sneak on" my my Moma and Dada but I am not very good at it because I start laughing before I get to them and I give myself away. I like to give high fives now and I wind up my arm for some power when I hit hands. I like to look at books and play with my toys. I love watching the Noggin channel and Spongebob. I have it good, I'm living the dream.

Happy New Year!

OK peeps, I have been MIA but with the big man coming to town, and traveling, and spending so much time with so many people - well, let's just say I've been busy! But, I am back and I am getting into my New Year's groove so let's recap:

I had such a fun Christmas! I left Hotlanta to go to Big Daddy and Grammie's house. My Uncle T-Tom was there and we had so much fun playing, and screaming, and eating. Did you know Santa found me there! I got a lego elephant set and a guitar and some books that make noise! After we left Grammie and Big Daddy's we went to see my cousins Xander and Jamasen, and my Aunt Jes and Uncle Brian. I was soooo excited to see them and we played in their toy room -my Nana was there, too. We got to their house on Christmas Eve and my Mommy gave Xan, J, and me matching Lightning McQueen p.j.'s- we looked so cool for Santa! We did the traditional gingerbread cookies and this year added a gingerbread house. Then it was off to bed so the big man could come down the chimney and guess what? He did!

I tore into my presents to find a drum, paint brushes, watercolors, and more. I must have been good this year despite what my Mommy and Daddy tell me (bad boy! they say-yeah right-did you talk to Santa). My great Mamau and Papau come over and then my Papau showed up. Santa brought me more-haha Moma and Dada. Santa must know how much I like trucks because I got 3 big trucks. I also got a tricycle, a little people village (not to be confused with the village people)-my Moma and Dada say that the truck drivers for the 3 big trucks look like the Village People. We had such a fun day but as all good things it came to an end.

We finished the trip at Papau Jobes. He taught me patty cake with my feet and gosh it was funny- I laughed every time. We went to a Pacers game and that was fun. My Dada bought me a jersey with my name on the back and the number 1. I love beating the thunder sticks on whatever I want to-but it gets me in trouble sometimes. While we were in the area we went to visit my Mimi, and went to Nana's and G-pa Willie's house for a little more time together. Then it was time to come home to my crib. No more pack-n-play, no more toys out of a suitcase, and no more staying up late!

We had a great trip and I was so happy to see everyone. I was excited to be home with all of my new and old toys. Just when I thought it was back to just Mom and Dad guess who showed up? Grammie and Big Daddy! They came down to hang out while Dada went to the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans. Plus they brought down our presents from thier house. While Dada was gone we went to dinner, lunch, shopping, we played, read books, we had a blast! But when Dada came back Grammie and Big Daddy left to go home and since they left it has just been Moma and Dada-but I am starting to give them a run for their money. I tell you more later, now it's time for dinner.
